Only 31 of the world’s most prolific 4629 peer reviewers are based in sub-Saharan Africa.
Clarivate Analytics has named more than 4,600 researchers who were in the top 1 per cent of peer reviewers in the world between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019.
The peer reviewers were selected for the number of reviews they had provided for journals indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection, a curated selection of journals subjected to various quality and impact criteria
