Uganda’s top university overhauls harassment policy and launches Safer Universities Project.
Makerere University in Uganda has overhauled its sexual harassment policy and embarked on a drive to eliminate sexual misconduct among students and staff.
William Bazeyo, the university’s acting deputy vice-chancellor for finance and administration, unveiled the initiative on 29 August. “We need to uproot all the cells that cause violence, abuse and sexual harassment in our universities,” he said.
