UCT appoints Moloi-Motsepe as chancellor
The University of Cape Town has elected Precious Moloi-Motsepe as its next chancellor. She will be the sixth chancellor when she takes up the position in 2020. Moloi-Motsepe is a medical doctor by training and founded the Motsepe Family Foundation with her husband, billionaire Patrice Motsepe. “We look forward to working with her in moving the university to the next level in achieving excellence in transformation, research, teaching and learning, and social responsiveness,” said Mmamokgethi Phakeng, UCT vice-chancellor, in a statement.
