Aim is to “radically transform” how diseases are tested, treated and monitored, says lead scientist
A scheme that aims to bring affordable and portable technology to sub-Saharan Africa to diagnose multiple diseases was presented this week at the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The Digital Innovations and Diagnostics for Infectious Diseases in Africa project is funded by €6 million from the European Union and €2m from the UK’s chief science funder UKRI. It brings together 14 partners from Kenya, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, the UK, France, the Netherlands and Italy.
