WHO helps Libya monitor disease outbreaks after deadly floods

                   

Waterborne diseases are a rising health concern amid mass displacement and sanitation collapse

The World Health Organization is working with local authorities in Libya to gauge whether waterborne diseases are circulating in flood-hit regions of the country.

The operation involving the WHO comes after a tropical storm triggered Libya’s deadliest flooding for over a century earlier this month, killing at least 4,000 people.
