Project first of its kind in Francophone Africa, organisers say
A Nigerian genomics company has turned its scope to its Francophone neighbour, to set up a first genomic database.
54gene signed an agreement on 26 May with Senegalese organisations to “establish a full genomic database of the Senegalese population”. It will partner with the National Academy of Sciences and Technology of Senegal and researchers based at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar.
