‘Great interest’ in joint PhDs for Wits and Northeastern University

Training programmes expected to start with physics and expand from there

The University of Witwatersrand in South Africa is looking to establish joint PhD programmes with Boston’s Northeastern University in the United States.

This announcement was part of the vision and actions agreed between the institutions on 15 September. Wits vice-chancellor Zeblon Vilakazi led his university’s delegation to Boston, where he met Northeastern’s provost and senior vice president for academic affairs David Madigan.
