Nigeria and UK launch joint project to study mpox

             

Surveillance and transmission studies will aid global fight against the disease, partners say

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has embarked on a multi-disciplinary project with partners in the United Kingdom to improve Nigeria’s mpox public health response.

The two-year project, launched on 16 October, will study clinical characteristics and the natural history of mpox disease, factors associated with infection and transmission and the experiences of patients and their families.
