The South African Department of Science and Technology is accepting nominations for the 2013 South African Women in Science Awards (WISA). The deadline for nominations is 17 May, and awards will be presented on 16 August during South African women’s month.
Two awards will go to a young and distinguished woman, respectively, in the fields of life sciences or social sciences. Researchers in indigenous knowledge systems can also be nominated in the senior women’s category.
There is also an award for distinguished, emerging and postdoctoral researchers in the role of science and research against violence towards women.
