Stellenbosch names vice-chancellor

South Africa's Stellenbosch University has appointed Wim de Villiers as vice-chancellor, the university board announced on 1 December.

De Villiers, who was the dean of faculty of health sciences at the University of Cape Town, replaces Russel Botman, who died in June.

He said his priority would be to increase the number of postgraduate students enrolled at the university.
