South African research prize invites applications

One of South Africa's richest research prizes, the Harry Oppenheimer Fellowship Award, is open for applications for 2015.

The R1.5 million (US$122,000) prize is given to leading South African researchers in any field as a stimulus for further research.

The award, established in 2001, is named after a former South African mining tycoon. It is administered by the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust, which was set up by Oppenheimer himself in 1958.
