Researchers find another giant in South Africa

Researchers have unearthed a previously unknown dinosaur species in South Africa which they say was once the largest land animal on earth.

The researchers dubbed the discovery Ledumahadi Mafube, meaning “a giant thunderclap at dawn” in Sesotho, the dominant language of the Free State region where the fossils were discovered.

The findings appeared in Current Biology on 27 September.
