Edward Kirumira has been appointed director of South Africa’s Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study.
Kirumira, who is the principal of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Uganda’s Makerere University, will succeed Hendrik Geyer in January 2019.
Kirumira, a sociologist, trained at Makerere, and in the United Kingdom and Denmark. His research focused on population and reproductive health, especially related to HIV and Aids.
