Namibia and NEPAD strike up agreements on biosafety

Namibia’s National Commission on Research Science and Technology and a network of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development have agreed to work together on biosafety.

The NCRST and Nepad’s African Biosafety Network of Expertise signed the three-year agreement in the Namibian capital, Windhoek, on 9 April.

The agreement will see the pair collaborate on co-hosting interdisciplinary training in biotechnology and biosafety, awareness of biosafety for genetically modified organisms, capacity building and meeting attendance, as well as building links with similar agencies on the continent.
