Parliament fumes as TUT ‘gives it the finger’

No-show indicative of ‘culture of impunity’ at university, says committee chair

Parliament has slammed the troubled Tshwane University of Technology after its management and council failed to appear before the portfolio committee on higher education.

TUT representatives were supposed to brief the portfolio committee on higher education, science and technology on 19 November. But a day earlier they informed the committee that they would not be able to attend.
