Top South African universities continue to fall in rankings

UCT drops out of QS’ top 200, and other universities move off list entirely

South Africa’s top universities continued their slide down world university rankings in the latest QS table, released on 11 June. 

The University of Cape Town remains the continent’s number one, but it fell out of the top 200 in the world, dropping 22 places to 220. UCT has tumbled down the rankings consistently since its 2015 high of 141.
