Confronting sexism is easier in historically white universities, sociology professor says

Black women continue to be “marginalised and excluded” in South African academia despite recent drives to promote equity, a researcher has warned.

Grace Khunou, a sociology professor at the University of Johannesburg, said Black women academics are exposed to “continuing coloniality and patriarchy” in the system.
