Wits launches Absa chair in future energy solutions

   

Research will optimise energy supply and demand for wellbeing, hosts say

South African financial services firm Absa has launched a three-year, R6 million chair in future energy, in collaboration with the University of Witwatersrand Business School in Johannesburg.

The chair, announced on 7 December, will study the impacts on energy systems of factors ranging from climate change to changes in consumption patterns, in a bid to understand, predict and adapt to changes in energy supply and consumption.
