Africa puts science on post-MDG agenda

African ministers, parliamentarians and policymakers want investments in skills, science and new technology to feature more prominently in the targets that will succeed the millennium development goals in 2015.

Their call was made during post-2015 development agenda discussions in Tunisia on 11 to 12 March, hosted by the African Development Bank. This was the final consultation, following two similar rounds of talks in Kenya and Senegal in 2012.
