Call to promote student mobility

The Nigerian minister of education, Ibrahim Shakarau, has called for African governments to compile and publish a list of accredited universities so researchers can identify potential partners.

Shakarau, who made the call at the Economic Community of West African States meeting of higher education ministers, said the list should include contact details of African and international universities to promote the mobility of students and academics on the continent.

It will also help students who want to study overseas to identify credible institutions, he told the meeting in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, on 11 November.
