Vice-chancellor presses for needs-based curricula in Nigeria

The vice-chancellor of Covenant University in Nigeria’s Ogun State, Charles Ayo, has called on the country’s new government to draw up a university curriculum based on the needs of the nation.

Ayo, who represents one of Nigeria’s private universities, was speaking on 4 June at the Nigerian Institute of Training and Development leaders’ forum in Lagos.

He said his university had already modelled its curriculum to suit the needs of the nation, and urged publically funded universities to follow suit with the government’s help.
