Nigeria’s Tertiary Trust Fund (Tetfund) has given an assurance that it will help build up Lagos State University’s research capacity, recently installed vice-chancellor Olanrewaju Fagbohun has told Research Africa.
LASU recently faced academic challenges, including non-accreditation of courses and a general dearth of research capacity and support. But in a in a 4 February interview Fagbohun said the 2016 round of Tetfund will help the university get back on its feet.
“We have assurances of funding from Tetfund for our colleagues who are working on research or manuscripts, publications or plan to attend international conferences and workshops,” he said.
