Nigeria’s science minister has called on more state governments to create science and technology ministries in order to boost research collaboration.
Speaking on 1 February, Ogbonnaya Onu said that Taraba State in northern Nigeria was the second state to establish its own science and technology ministry. The first was Lagos.
Commending Taraba, whose officials were paying him a visit in the capital, Abuja, Onu said that state ministries had a role to play in linking up research institutions and initiatives across the country.
