Tetfund to restore burnt-out University of Jos library

Nigeria’s Tertiary Education Trust Fund has approved funding worth N729 million (US$2.3m) to rebuild the University of Jos library, which was ravaged by fire in October last year.

The fire destroyed library books as well as records kept for the faculty of social sciences and management studies, which lies close to the library complex.

Stephen Akintunde, the university librarian, said that the university lost more than 60 per cent of its books in the fire.
