[ACCRA] Ghana’s cabinet will receive a proposal to create a long-awaited science and innovation fund within a month, its recently appointed science minister has said.
Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng made his remarks at a pan-African health research conference in Accra this week.
Frimpong-Boateng said financing for the fund would come as part of efforts to raise national science and technology expenditure to 1 per cent of GDP. That would be a significant increase from the current spend, estimated at 0.02 per cent of GDP.
