Ghana launches first self-built satellite

A satellite built by students at Ghana’s All Nations University was released into orbit from the International Space Station on 7 July.

The satellite, the first to be designed and launched by the country, cost US$500,000 over two years, the BBC reported. It was supported by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, JAXA, and it will survey Ghana’s coast.
