Nigerian government adopts 13-year S&T roadmap

The Nigerian federal government has approved a 13-year science and technology roadmap aimed at guiding the nation in harnessing technology to address economic and social problems.

The 2017-30 roadmap was approved on 29 June at a federal executive meeting in Abuja. However, the government has not made available details of what policies and measures it contains yet.

According to Ogbonnaya Onu, the minister of science and technology, the roadmap will help Nigeria realise its dream of becoming the world’s ninth largest economy by 2050.
