Lagos forensic lab opens for crime-solving business

A forensic laboratory based in Lagos, Nigeria, has begun working to solve crimes in the country, journalists were told last week.

The Lagos State DNA Forensics Centre is situated on Lagos Island. It will be officially opened in the next few weeks, Adeniji Kazeem, the state’s attorney general and commissioner for justice, announced on 17 September.

According to Kazeem, the lab is part of the country’s efforts to solve crime through technology and to develop a national standard for DNA profiling.
