A number of prominent organisations involved in health and development have committed to a global development plan conceived partly at the request of the president of Ghana.
In May, Nana Akufo-Addo, along with German chancellor Angela Merkel and Norwegian prime minister Erna Solberg, urged the World Health Organization to develop a plan to coordinate global efforts to reach the Sustainable Development Goals.
