Wollongong to focus on studies in Asian law

An international research group specialising in Asian law and governance has been set up at the University of Wollongong in New South Wales.

The Asian Law Forum includes experts from Indonesia, Bangladesh, China, Thailand and Malaysia, and will be based at the UOW law school. It will cover all aspects of Asian legal systems from business law and politics to cultural heritage protection and environmental law.

Announcing the formation of the interdisciplinary forum, the UOW’s dean of law, Warwick Gullett said it would become a focus for research to provide “information and clarity on the complex systems that exist across the Asian region”.
