Project boosts attendance for East Timor schools

Deakin University in regional Victoria is working with East Timor public servants to improve the country’s school attendances through an early reading programme.

East Timor education ministry employees and Deakin graduate research students, Afonso Soares and Simao do Rosario, are developing a programme to ensure more children stay at school.

Announcing details, do Rosario said the project is conducting pilot studies that will help develop a national education programme.
