Australia should promote its wine industry, sports events and climate as major attractions for Chinese tourists, according to an academic who has published widely on business relations between the two countries.
Sam Huang, currently based at Edith Cowan University in Perth, is a founding research fellow of the International Association for China Tourism Studies. He is also a member of the Council for Australian University Tourism.
In an ECU statement, Huang said that that Australia needs to rethink the focus of its tourism campaigns to appeal to modern China and its changing tastes.
