Morrison and Turnbull clash over Indonesian trade talks

Australia’s prime minister Scott Morrison has been forced to clarify comments about the role of his predecessor Malcolm Turnbull in trade talks held last week with Indonesia’s president Joko Widodo.

Turnbull, who is recognised as having good relations with Widodo, held talks with the Indonesian president during a visit to Bali for a global oceans conference last week.

He told reporters in Indonesia that during the meeting, Widodo had raised concerns about Morrison’s decision to consider moving Australia’s embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
