Climate change ‘gives Pacific Islands a powerful global voice’

Pacific leaders are united in highlighting the direct threat to their survival, says ANU researcher

Australia’s failure to work with Pacific Island nations on climate change policies is increasingly “out of step” with a more powerful and determined regional leadership, a Canberra academic has said.

Greg Fry, from the Asia-Pacific college of diplomacy at the Australian National University, says shared concerns about climate change, ocean management and sustainable development have united Pacific leaders.
