Project looks to dispel myths about mental health

Flinders University is launching a free online course to encourage people to share experiences, concern and insights about mental health.

It’s believed to be the first Massive Open Online Course (or MOOC) of its kind in Australia, and has been designed by Eimear Muir-Cochrane and Deb O’Kane from the university’s school of nursing and midwifery.

Muir-Cochrane says the self-directed course, called Mental Wealth, is open to anyone over the age of 16 years who wants to share thoughts “and engage in a positive way about mental health”.
