Malaysian studies institute launched at ANU

Malaysia’s deputy prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has described plans to set up a global Malaysian studies base in Canberra as “a game changer” for future research.

The Australian National University has signed an agreement with the National University of Malaysia (UKM) to launch the joint research initiative at the ANU’s campus.

Muhyiddin, who is also Malaysia’s education minister, attended the formal signing ceremony on 12 November in Canberra.
