INXS songwriter joins ANU music school

Andrew Farriss, the former keyboard player with rock band INXS, will join the Australian National University music faculty in Canberra as a visiting fellow.

Farriss, who co-wrote the band’s global hit Original Sin, has been appointed the H.C Coombs fellow for 2015 – an ANU award which supports creative artists in music, literature and the visual arts. It is named in honour of Herbert Cole Coombs, an economist and senior federal public servant, who was an influential champion of the arts.

During his 2015 fellowship at the ANU school of music, Farris will undertake a major creative project and participate in creative workshops with students.
