Fulbright chair brings leading US scholars to Canberra

The Australian National University has signed a deal with the Australian-American Fulbright Commission to set up a Fulbright distinguished chair in the arts, humanities and social sciences in Canberra.

Announcing the five-year research agreement on 26 May, vice-chancellor Ian Young said it will “enable exceptional senior scholars from the United States to undertake a semester of research in the area of arts, humanities and social sciences” at the ANU.

The Fulbright chair will start in 2016, and is one of five distinguished chairs to be offered at Australian universities and research agencies.
