UTAS lawyers examine state anti-bullying laws

The University of Tasmania is seeking public submissions for a legal issues paper on bullying.

The Tasmanian Law Reform Institute at UTAS is looking at state laws and legal frameworks to address different types of bullying and to determine whether cyber-bullying requires a different legal response.

Announcing the issues paper on 18 May, the institute’s director Terese Henning said the legal response to bullying was complicated by its definition under existing state laws.
