NSW universities aiming to ‘make a difference’

Three universities in New South Wales have formed a research partnership to work with regional industries and communities across the state.

The NUW Alliance involves the universities of Newcastle, UNSW in Sydney and Wollongong, and will explore ways to address challenges in health services, education, technology and regional business development.

In a joint statement, the group said that its first step will be a six-month consultation period to identify areas where the universities “can make a lasting difference” to local communities.
