Queensland University of Technology is transferring ownership of its Caboolture campus to the University of the Sunshine Coast, with the switch expected to be finalised in January 2018.
The move comes as USC is expanding its presence in the Moreton Bay region, north of Brisbane, where Caboolture is a major regional centre.
Speaking to Brisbane media, QUT deputy vice chancellor Carol Dickenson said “it doesn’t make sense for two different universities to be offering the same programmes in same space”.
