La Trobe University in Melbourne has received a $22,000 federal grant to identify obstacles that prevent young defence force veterans gaining access to higher education.
It is the only university to receive funding in the first round of the Supporting Younger Veterans grants programme, which was launched in early 2017.
The programme will provide $4.25 million over five years to projects that will help younger veterans adjust to returning to civilian life.
