Grant to build facilities for WA grains research

Murdoch University in Perth has received a $3 million grant to set up a crop research centre in Western Australia.

The Grains Research and Development Corporation infrastructure grant will fund the construction of 18 glasshouses at Murdoch, water-efficient irrigation systems for field trials and two laboratories.

Announcing details, GRDC chair John Woods said that farm industry research partners will contribute a further $2m to the project.
