Federal science minister Arthur Sinodinos has taken sick leave to deal with an undisclosed medical condition, and his portfolio will be taken up by embattled employment minister, Michaelia Cash.
In a brief statement on 20 September, Sinodinos that he had “sought, and was granted, a period of leave by the prime minister to address a medical issue”.
He said that he will “return to full duties later this year, as soon as practicable”.
