Shared housing no longer just for students, says academic

UNSW research fellow calls for greater legal protection as older market emerges

Australia’s tenancy laws have not kept up with changes caused by a growing lack of affordable rental accommodation, according to a leading Sydney academic.

Chris Martin, a research fellow with the built environment faculty at the University of New South Wales, says shared houses are becoming more common among people in their thirties and forties.
