Melbourne think tank to focus on toxic threat of racism

Three universities in New South Wales and Victoria are to lead a national think thank to develop policy solutions to social problems caused by racism, cultural intolerance and political extremism in Australia.

The Centre of Excellence for Resilient Communities and Inclusive Societies will be based at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation at Deakin University’s Burwood campus in Melbourne.

The centre, supported by the Victorian state government, will involve Western Sydney University, Victoria University in Melbourne’s western suburbs, and the Australian Multicultural Foundation.
