‘Brutalist’ library to be updated for the digital era

Curtin University has announced that it will spend $60 million to upgrade the main library at its Perth campus in Western Australia.

WA architecture company Hames Sharley will work with Danish partner Schmidt Hammer Lassen on the design for the TL Robertson library.

Curtin vice-chancellor Deborah Terry said the refurbishment would transform the library, which was built in the 1970s, into “a place for digital innovation”.
