CSIRO restructure to merge environmental research teams

Australia’s top science agency is planning to cut research programmes in its Land and Water division as part of a departmental restructure.

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation has told staff that it wants to reduce the division’s number of programmes from five to four.

The CSIRO Staff Association says the restructure is not expected to involve job losses.
