Melbourne strengthens research ties with Berlin universities

The University of Melbourne has signed a $1.6-million deal with the Berlin University Alliance to collaborate on research projects and support postgraduate students.

Jim McCluskey, the university’s deputy vice-chancellor of research, said the agreement would strengthen research ties with the four Berlin institutions that are part of the research alliance.

These are the Free University of Berlin, Humboldt University, Berlin Institute of Technology and Europe’s largest teaching hospital, Charité Universitätsmedizin, which is affiliated with Humboldt University.
