Funding should bring ‘greater understanding of Indigenous history, heritage and the success of multiculturalism’
Federal education minister Dan Tehan has announced a $12-million grants programme to increase research funding for Australian history and cultural studies.
The programme, to be administered by the Australian Research Council, will fund around 40 projects annually. According to the ARC’s website, it will support research into Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander society, history, culture, art, literature, music, politics and geography.
